Frequently asked questions
General Questions
What do I need to grow mushrooms at home?
You'll need a mushroom growing kit, sterile tools (like syringes and gloves), and a place with good humidity and temperature control.
How do Mushroom Growing Kits work?
Kits come with a pre-colonized substrate (ready to grow mushrooms) and simple instructions. Just follow the steps, keep it humid, and you'll have mushrooms in a few weeks!
Can I reuse mushroom growing supplies?
Growing kits are for one harvest, but you can reuse tools like syringes and containers. Just clean them well!
Are mushroom growing supplies legal?
Growing kits, spores, and liquid culture are usually legal. But when it comes to growing psychedelic mushrooms (like Psilocybe cubensis), the rules can vary a lot. Always check your local laws before getting started with those.
Can I grow psychedelic mushrooms with your liquid cultures or growing kits?
Our liquid cultures and growing kits are sold strictly for research and educational purposes. While they can be used to cultivate mushrooms from strains that are known for their psychedelic properties, such as Psilocybe cubensis, we do not promote the cultivation or consumption of psilocybin mushrooms. It’s important to check your local laws regarding the cultivation of psychedelic mushrooms before proceeding.
How long does it take to grow mushrooms?
With liquid culture, expect 3-4 weeks from inoculation to harvest. With spores, it’s closer to 4-6 weeks.
Do I need special knowledge to grow mushrooms at home?
Not really! Mushroom kits are beginner-friendly. The key is following the instructions carefully and ensuring the right environmental conditions. For beginners, kits with pre-colonized substrates and liquid cultures are the best starting point.
What types of mushrooms can I grow at home?
You can grow edible mushrooms (like Oyster or Shiitake), medicinal mushrooms (like Reishi), and psychedelic mushrooms (where legal).
Do your liquid cultures contain psilocybin or psilocin?
Do your liquid cultures contain psilocybin or psilocin?
General Questions
Do your products contain psilocybin or psilocin?
No, our products are 100% free of psilocybin and psilocin.
Liquid cultures, spores, and grow kits contain only undeveloped fungal mycelium, which does not produce these compounds. Psilocybin and psilocin are only present in the mature fruiting bodies of certain mushrooms after full development under specific conditions.
What types of mushrooms can I grow at home?
You can grow:
- Edible mushrooms (Oyster, Shiitake).
- Medicinal mushrooms (Reishi, Lion’s Mane).
- Psychedelic mushrooms (only where legal).
Do I need special knowledge to grow mushrooms at home?
Not really! Grow kits are the best starting point, requiring minimal effort—just follow the instructions and maintain the right conditions.
Liquid Cultures, however, are better suited for experienced users who are comfortable working with sterile techniques and substrates.
How long does it take to grow mushrooms?
The timeframe depends on the method you choose:
- Grow Kits (100% mycelium): The fastest option, typically fruiting in 1-3 weeks since they are fully colonized and ready to grow.
- Liquid Culture Syringes: Expect 3-5 weeks from inoculation to harvest, as mycelium needs time to colonize the substrate.
- Spores: The slowest method, taking 4-7 weeks, since spores must first germinate before mycelium starts growing.
Each method requires consistent temperature and humidity for best results.
Can I grow psychedelic mushrooms with your liquid cultures or growing kits?
Our liquid cultures and growing kits are sold strictly for research and educational purposes.
While they contain strains known for their psychedelic properties (like Psilocybe cubensis), we do not promote cultivation or consumption of psilocybin mushrooms. It’s important to check your local laws before proceeding.
Are mushroom growing supplies legal?
Grow kits, spores, and liquid cultures are generally legal. In the EU, undeveloped mushrooms, such as liquid cultures and 100% mycelium, do not contain any controlled substances like psilocybin, making them legal to sell and possess.
However, growing psychedelic mushrooms (like Psilocybe cubensis) may be regulated differently depending on your country. Always check your local laws before proceeding.
Can I reuse mushroom growing supplies?
Each kit can produce 2–7 flushes. While later flushes may yield fewer mushrooms, they tend to grow larger. Watch for contamination—especially after the third flush. If you notice a sweet smell or mold, discard the kit immediately.
To start a new cycle, repeat steps 1–2, but this time soak the kit for 4–8 hours instead of 1 hour. Then, follow the rest of the steps as before and enjoy your next harvest!
How do Mushroom Growing Kits work?
Kits come with a pre-colonized substrate (ready to grow mushrooms) and simple instructions. Just follow the steps, keep humidity levels stable, and expect mushrooms in a few weeks!
What do I need to grow mushrooms at home?
There are two ways to grow mushrooms:
- Grow Kits – The easiest option. Just open the kit, add water, and let it grow—minimal effort required.
- Liquid Culture Syringes – Designed for advanced users. This method requires sterile tools, a suitable substrate, and careful handling.
For both methods, maintaining a consistent temperature is key to achieving the best results.
