Growkit Instructions

At the outset of their journey into mushroom cultivation, especially with oyster mushrooms or other edible varieties permitted in Poland, novice growers often face similar challenges and have recurrent questions. This is completely understandable—gaining a bit of knowledge and addressing uncertainties is always beneficial!

We want to emphasize that this guide is strictly for the cultivation of oyster mushrooms and other edible species. It is important to avoid growing psilocybin mushrooms, as the alkaloids they contain are illegal in many countries, including Poland.
What will you need?
Clean Hands
Water in a misting bottle
Space with temp. 22-23 °C

1. Fill the Grow Kit

Remove the lid and fill up the grow box with water until it’s full. Then, put the lid back on and leave the water in for around 1-2 hours. Put the kit in the fridge if possible.

2. Clean and Drain

After 1-2 hours, take the lid off again, clean it under running water and save it for later. Pour the excess water out of the box.

3. Prepare the Grow Bag

Pour around 150 ml of clean tap water into the grow bag. Put the grow kit inside and use the spray bottle to mist the sides of the bag. Try to maintain a humidity level of 80-100% throughout the entire growth cycle.

4. Secure the Grow Bag

Fold the top of the grow bag and secure the fold with clips. Keep the kit in a bright place away from direct sunlight, ideally at a temperature of 22-25°C.

5. Ventilate for Oxygen

Keep a close eye on the kit. When you start to see the first pins, try to ventilate it once a day if possible. Thanks to the special micron air filter, opening it once every 2-3 days is also sufficient

6. Harvesting Mushrooms

Mushrooms should be ready for harvesting after 2-4 weeks. Once you get to harvesting, take all the mushrooms – even the tiny ones. The best time to harvest it just before the veils crack. Make sure to follow the growth cycle and harvest at the right time – this is very important!

7. Refresh for Next Cycle

To start a new cycle, repeat steps 1-2 but let it soak for 4-8 hours instead of 1 hour. Then follow the rest of the steps as before and enjoy your next harvest!
