Magic Mushroom Grow Kit Guide – Step-by-Step Instructions
At the outset of their journey into mushroom cultivation, especially with oyster mushrooms or other edible varieties permitted in Poland, novice growers often face similar challenges and have recurrent questions. This is completely understandable—gaining a bit of knowledge and addressing uncertainties is always beneficial!
We want to emphasize that this guide is strictly for the cultivation of oyster mushrooms and other edible species. It is important to avoid growing psilocybin mushrooms, as the alkaloids they contain are illegal in many countries, including Poland.
What will you need?
Clean Hands
Water in a misting bottle
Space with temp. 24-26 °C
1. Fill the Grow Kit
Remove the lid and fill the grow box with water until it’s full. Then, put the lid back on and let it soak for 1–2 hours. Keep the kit at room temperature during this time.
2. Clean and Drain
After 1–2 hours, remove the lid, clean it, and set it aside for later use. Drain the excess water from the grow box completely.
1. Prepare the Grow Bag
Pour around 150 ml of clean tap water into the grow bag. Place the grow kit inside and mist the sides of the bag. Aim for a humidity of 80–100% throughout the growth cycle. If the bag’s sides are wet or have small droplets, your humidity level is perfect—no need to overthink it!
2. Secure the Grow Bag
Set and maintain a temperature of 24–26°C for optimal mushroom growth.
3. Ventilate for Oxygen
Once you see the first pins forming, ventilate the kit once a day if possible. Thanks to the special micron air filter, opening it once every 2–3 days is also sufficient.
4. Harvesting Mushrooms
Mushrooms will be ready for harvest in 2–4 weeks. Harvest all mushrooms—even the tiny ones. The best time to harvest is just before the veils break. Proper timing is crucial for the best results!
5. Refresh for Next Cycle
Each kit can produce 2–7 flushes. While later flushes may yield fewer mushrooms, they tend to grow larger. Watch for contamination—especially after the third flush. If you notice a sweet smell or mold, discard the kit immediately.
To start a new cycle, repeat steps 1–2. Then, follow the rest of the steps as before and enjoy your next harvest!
